Cozy spaces, crafty kitchens, and so much to be thankful for!
The snow has arrived, Christmas lights are lining the streets, and holiday jingles play softly everywhere we go. The most wonderful time of the year is upon us and that means a few things. First, with nightfall beginning around 4 PM, us Minnesotans are spending more and more of our time indoors. This in turn leads us to put more thought and effort into how our home looks, and make it comfortable and festive for the holidays. Second, the holidays bring an uptick in planning…planning for holiday events, dinner parties, or hosting family for the weekend. Third, it’s the season of giving thanks and we are especially thankful this year. We are thankful for our clients, for our employees, and for the architects, interior designers, subcontractors, and vendors who help us create the beautiful homes our clients make lifelong holiday memories in.
In our opinion, one of the best parts of the holiday season is preparing your home for the holidays. Some of our clients “cozy up” their homes with an assortment of textures and materials, while others add design elements like fireplaces, timber and stone to create a warm ambiance.
Turning your home into a holiday oasis is exciting, but keeping your home organized is vital this time of year. Holiday events run much smoother when you are able to have extra counter space or hiding messy meal prep in a Butler’s Pantry. Extra ovens or dual refrigerators make holiday hosting manageable. How many of you have had to use the frigid outdoors as a last resort for a refrigerator?
Along with preparing the meal, gathering around the dining table is a big part of the holidays. Decorating the table, unpacking the holiday settings, fitting enough seats for everyone, and all the details in between is a large task!
