Modern Eclectic

Project Overview

Suburban home gets a sleek contemporary upgrade. The Contemporary Modern renovation is a modern interpretation of the classic Prairie School design, with existing interior and exterior stonework serving as a focal point. The hearth room had a 1980’s gas fireplace and over-sized television cabinet. Replacing these with a new 50” linear fireplace and updating the materials starting with more modern, contemporary elements gave the space a fresh, updated look.

Vibrant new beginnings. The new design is more energetic, colorful and fun with each room having a unique feature element that the rest of the space revolves around. Simply adding a window above a wall of cabinetry provided borrowed light into the dining area from the neighboring kitchen, giving the room a fresh, airy feel. In the laundry room, an over-sized cabinet that dominated the space was replaced with a center island that functions similarly to the dual-purpose mud room the space was before.
