Modern integration to a rustic log home. On the shores of a Northern Minnesota lake rests a Lodgepole Pine log home built in 1993 with breathtaking sunsets overlooking the lake. It was the intimate, private setting that brought the homeowner’s to purchase the rustic log cabin. But after using the cabin for over four years, they determined there were a number of items they wanted to change to make it more accommodating for entertaining their family and friends.
The owner’s wanted to create a more open feel to the space adding a modern aesthetic that highlighted the original logs. By changing the roof structure, a second-floor bedroom and bathroom were relocated so the space above the kitchen and dining room could be vaulted.
The successful renovation of this home is testament to a team’s determination to bring a client’s vision to reality.
