The “curb appeal” of your home can go a long way in setting your property apart from the rest. Few parts of your home are as noticeable as your front entryway and façade. From creating your own unique design to choosing the right light fixture, every little piece needs to work together seamlessly to produce the perfect first impression. One of our favorite ways to create a one-of-a-kind entry is by installing a custom door. Custom-made doors are a great way to make a statement without having to go too far out of your comfort zone, and adding color, texture and glazing will help take that statement to the next level. Here are a couple of our favorite statement entrances that can’t help but invite you in.
Set Your Door Apart With Color
Choosing the right color for your home can be stressful. Committing to a unique color or trend can leave you wondering if you made a mistake and could lead to an expensive exterior paint job just a few months down the line. Instead of painting your entire home a bright and eye-catching color, you can easily capture the fun of colorful accent by painting your door instead. That small decision will have a big impact on creating an interesting entrance with just the right amount of pop. A much more tangible element to transition as color and design trends evolve. This door is one of our favorite designs, beautifully framed by ornamental grasses and iron lights. This bright and colorful door provides the perfect accent color for this façade of classic neutrals.
A Unique Design Speaks for Itself
If color isn’t your desire, perhaps a decorative accent is the solution to creating an inviting and unique first impression. A wood truss, column detail, stone surround or even lighting can dramatically change the character of a front door. This home is one of our favorite examples of a simple, yet elegant entry. While the black column details provide the framework for the entry door, a small metal awning roof creates just enough texture to contrast the simplicity of the surrounding stucco exterior. To add a little historical nostalgia to this modernist aesthetic, the Owner chose a gas lantern in lieu of a more contemporary fixture to light the path, thus creating that warm and inviting greeting for their guests.
