This month we’re sharing creative solutions in designing outdoor spaces to not only extend your grilling season well beyond the summer months, but also create a unique space customized to your lifestyle. From a simple grill patio to a fully functioning outdoor kitchen, here are our favorites to lend some inspiration for creating your own outdoor entertainment oasis.

A screened porch is a great extension of the home to use for your outdoor kitchen. Complete with living room patio furniture and dining table, you’ll have the perfect place to gather during the summer months. Screens protect you and your guests from pesky mosquitos yet allow cool lake breezes to waft through the space helping you beat the summer heat. Add a fireplace and space heaters, and you can extend your outdoor entertainment well into fall and early spring.
Artistic Inspiration
Get artistically creative with your appliances! In the corner of this modern porch is a pizza oven by Fontana Forni, with additional space below for wood storage. The unique shape adds interest to the space while the stainless finish fits well with the traditional grill and hood nearby.

If you want to add some architectural interest to your grilling area, a separate structure connected by patios provides relief from the sun while creating a space with tons of charm and character. This free-standing island kitchen is complete with a pizza oven, two grills, griddle, beverage chiller, and ice maker. Incorporate a sit-up counter with bar stools and you have the perfect spot for entertaining guests while tending the grill.
The Ultimate Outdoor Experience
This northern Minnesota lake home has everything you need to create the ultimate outdoor experience. A flagstone patio connects the main home to two outdoor cook stations framed in stone with granite countertops. To the left is a built-in gas grill and smoker with granite countertops. On the right is a pizza oven and rotisserie grill under an arched stone opening. The exterior addition includes a combination of shaker style and stone siding with standing seam metal roof. To complete this outdoor experience, a sauna with dressing room sits just behind the grill area, and an outdoor spa wrapped in stone overlooks the lake.
